Criminal activity in Merol, Lirayne, lies silent following a series of coordinated raids conducted by an international coalition of law enforcement agencies. The Bureau of International Defense (BID), International Law Enforcement Organization (ILEFO), and the International Treaty of Ensuring World Integrity (ITREWN) have successfully dismantled WestWay Syndicate's operations in the country, dealing a significant blow to one of Lirayne's most notorious criminal organizations.
The meticulously planned raids, carried out over the course of four months, resulted in the seizure of hundreds of thousands of atlas' worth of illegal goods and the arrest of over 50 high-ranking WS members. Safe houses, distribution centers, and even a suspected arms depot were discovered and neutralized during the operations. However, despite extensive efforts, Douglas O'Rourke, the leader of WestWay Syndicate, managed to evade capture.
"We are satisfied with the outcome of this effort," said BID Director, Sylviane Neugebauer. "Today marks a turning point in our fight against organized crime. We have sent a clear message that such activities will not be tolerated, and we will continue to pursue O'Rourke until he is brought to justice."
However, law enforcement agencies caution that while this is a significant victory, it does not spell the end of WestWay Syndicate entirely. With operations in several other countries, the organization remains a formidable threat. Intelligence sources suggest that O'Rourke may be regrouping and planning to increase his influence in Lirayne.
