In a significant move towards global security, the International Treaty of Ensuring World Integrity (ITREWN) has ratified the International Code of Conduct for PMOs (ICCPMO) convention. This convention was proposed by the organization on February 15, 2030.
The new regulations aim to rein in the often unchecked power of PMOs, which have been criticized for their lack of transparency and accountability. Under these new rules, PMOs will face limits on their employment numbers, with each contractor required to hold valid licenses and undergo rigorous background checks. Additionally, a controlled weapons market has been established, monitoring all transactions involving heavy artillery and other restricted weaponry.
ITREWN General Secretary, Jones Ferran, addressed the media today, stating, "These regulations mark a crucial step towards preventing illicit arms trafficking and fostering greater transparency within the private military sector." Stricter reporting requirements have also been implemented to increase accountability among PMOs.
However, concerns have arisen over potential resistance from established PMOs. Some industry leaders have expressed fears that these restrictions could hinder their operations.
